This page explains what SalonHub does with personal data when you book an appointment or run a salon on the platform. It describes what the service actually does today.

Who is responsible

SalonHub operates this booking platform. Salons listed on SalonHub are independent businesses and are responsible for the services they provide and for the customer data they hold about their own clients.

The operator details are published on the Imprint page.

What we collect when you book

To make a booking we ask for your name, email address and phone number, together with the salon, service, staff member and time you choose. You may optionally add a note for the salon.

SalonHub does not require you to create an account to book. We do not ask for a password and we do not store one for customers.

Why we need it

Your contact details are used to confirm the appointment, to send you the secure link that lets you view, reschedule or cancel it, and to let the salon reach you about that booking.

The salon you book with can see your booking and the contact details you provided, because it needs them to serve you.

Your booking-management link

The link we send you acts as the key to that one booking. Anyone holding the link can view and change that appointment, so treat it as private and do not share it. It works only for that booking and expires after the appointment has passed.

How long we keep it

Booking records are retained while they are needed to operate the service and to meet Swiss bookkeeping obligations, which generally require business records to be kept for ten years.

Booking-management links stop working well before that, once the appointment is past.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

We share it only with the salon you booked, and with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service — hosting, the database, and, where configured, the email and payment providers. Providers act on our instructions and are used only for these purposes.

Your rights

Under Swiss data-protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where no legal retention obligation applies.

Contact us using the address on the Imprint page. We may need to verify your identity before acting, so that nobody else can make a request in your name.

Accounts and invitations

You can create a SalonHub account. It stores your name, email address, optional phone number and language, and lets you see the appointments you booked while signed in. Appointments booked as a guest are not shown, because we cannot confirm they were yours.

If you were invited by another customer or by a salon, we record which invitation brought you to SalonHub and when. This is used to understand how people find the service. Invitation links contain a random code only — never your name, email or phone number — and we never tell the person who invited you who accepted their invitation.

Cookies

SalonHub sets only cookies it needs to function: your language choice, a session cookie when you or a salon owner signs in, a short-lived cookie recording which salon link brought you to a booking page, and — if you arrived through an invitation — a cookie holding a random code so the invitation still applies when you finish signing up. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
